Time For a Name

As it’s now less than a month until the first issue I think it’s time to decide on a name. We’ve had some great suggestions and I have my personal favourite but I wanted to see what everyone thought so here’s a little poll for you! If you could vote on which is your favourite from the below or suggest your own so next week we will have a name and can start designing logos.

Back to the magazine –  I’ve now finished the article about further education using replies from  both City and Guilds (a work-based learning provider) and Anxiety UK. I emailed with questions  about what help is available in further education for those with selective mutism and anxiety. It’s a shame that more companies didn’t come back to me but these two were helpful, positive and encouraging so more than made up for the lack of replies from other companies.

In other news I’m happy to say that the magazine is being filled up nicely! Just a few weeks left now if you want to send anything in for the first issue. I’ll be doing some cooking this week to test a recipe (pumpkin, cheese and chive cupcakes) so will let you know how it goes next week. Here’s the recipe if anyone wants to join in and send in pictures of your (hopefully!) tasty treats. http://www.goodtoknow.co.uk/recipes/267188/Pumpkin–cheese-and-chive-muffins

"I recommend you for your hard work in 'spreading the word' about SM. I am encouraged by the rise of interest in the condition over the 21 years of SMIRA's existence, which, I am sure, is due, in no small part, to the efforts of the organisation in raising the profile of this disorder. The more ways that people can learn about it, the better."
