Sorry, it’s been a while… Is it safe to come out of hiding?

Hi everyone,

I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to do another post. A lot of things have happened and I’ve neglected the website recently. I want to share what’s been going on but it’s going to take me a little time to get the words out of my head and written down.

I’ve been meaning to do a post for a while now, and after noticing that someone shared the Finding Our Voices website on the SMIRA facebook group earlier today (thanks for sharing ?) I thought now seemed as good a time as any!

I don’t want to say too much about what’s happened because I want to write a proper post about it all, but in a very brief summary: I bought a house and I’ve started hypnotherapy! I will update you all as soon as I can.

In other news, I’m hoping to start updating the website again (checking all the links work, adding in new ones, making it look a bit nicer – that kind of thing).

There’s been a few people asking about chat forums for SM. I’d always recommend the SM Space Cafe group on facebook (very friendly lovely people! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1462678917293033/) but I know not everyone has Facebook. There is a chat forum set up on the Finding Our Voices website but it’s very unused and I need help – I wondered if anyone would be interested in volunteering to help run it? Perhaps posting once or twice a week, setting up post topics, replying to posts. Any takers? Let me know if you might be interested and we can start getting ideas together.

Well, that’s about all for now. More posts will be coming soon!

"I recommend you for your hard work in 'spreading the word' about SM. I am encouraged by the rise of interest in the condition over the 21 years of SMIRA's existence, which, I am sure, is due, in no small part, to the efforts of the organisation in raising the profile of this disorder. The more ways that people can learn about it, the better."
