Second Issue is Coming Soon!

It’s less than two weeks now until the second issue will be out. I’ve got a couple of bits to finish off, then to ‘make it look like a magazine’, adding pictures and proof-reading and it will be all ready to go! Here’s a preview of what’s in the second issue:

  • Interview with the Selective Mutism Group
  • New to SM – one parent who has only recently found out about SM tells her story and the importance of raising awareness
  • We take a look at new books recently published, and in the process of being written, about SM and social anxiety
  • How to survive the Christmas dinner – the noise, the people, the fear of eating in public and how to get through it
  • Your SM experience – Katie shares her story ‘from darkness to light’
  • SM in school and home schooling as well as your tips on how to cope with SM in school
  • Interview with the SM Space Cafe admins

There’ll also be a new website coming soon in the next month or so which is exciting!

In the meantime please keep sending in your articles or anything to go in future issues, I really do appreciate it and so will everyone else who reads it 🙂

"I recommend you for your hard work in 'spreading the word' about SM. I am encouraged by the rise of interest in the condition over the 21 years of SMIRA's existence, which, I am sure, is due, in no small part, to the efforts of the organisation in raising the profile of this disorder. The more ways that people can learn about it, the better."
