Happy

This last week I’ve been a bit stressed. Work’s been busy and I’ve been thinking about the three weddings and a christening we’ve been invited to; all in the space of a couple of months. I also hate buying presents because I never know what to get, I worry that they won’t like it or won’t use it or have I spent enough? Have I spent too much? I tend to leave present-buying untill the weekend before then go out and panic buy.

Some of you might remember I put a survey up on the cafe a while ago for the magazine and one of the questions was ‘what makes you happy’? During the week I was looking through the answers and it made me realise that instead of sitting there worrying about the things that were making me stressed why not go out? So we made an improntu decision to go to the cinema and I felt so much better for it. And it was even better because we only paid £1.70! We used Tesco clubcard vouchers for the tickets and I had a giftcard left from my birthday for the popcorn and drinks. If you haven’t seen the survey and want to have a look it’s here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/58MG6B5

With all the replies from the survey I’ve used a clever website to make the word cloud below – it’s got all the things that make us happy! I’ll update it with any new ones that you send in.

What makes us happy

This week I’m taking a week off writing and doing some doodles/drawings for the magazine. I haven’t done any kind of arty bits for a long time, they’re not going to be prizeworthy so please help out and send in yours too!

"I recommend you for your hard work in 'spreading the word' about SM. I am encouraged by the rise of interest in the condition over the 21 years of SMIRA's existence, which, I am sure, is due, in no small part, to the efforts of the organisation in raising the profile of this disorder. The more ways that people can learn about it, the better."
