Almost one month to go!

Thank you so much to those who have sent in bits for the first issue. I was worrying a little that not many would send things in but we’ve got a few articles from you now and some great pictures/photos so please keep sending them in. It’s all coming together nicely but one thing that I’m stuck with is a children’s page. I’d like to put in a page or two just for children but not quite sure what it should include. Has anyone got any ideas or anything they can send in for it? I was thinking along the lines of advice on how to cope in school/clubs, stories from other children, their artwork and crafts and some fun bits/puzzles. Any other suggestions?

This weekend we went to Scotland (that’s the reason for the late update, I’ll get back to posting on Sundays from next week) and it was so nice to get away, even if it was only for a few days. Sometimes a change in routine is just what we need to get back on track so now I’m rested and spurred on to continue with the magazine. It’s a shame that I don’t wake up to views like these everyday but I’m thinking of printing it off and sticking it over the blinds on the window as a reminder.

There’s one month to go now before the first issue of the magazine so if you have anything to send in please send it over before the 22nd August.

"I recommend you for your hard work in 'spreading the word' about SM. I am encouraged by the rise of interest in the condition over the 21 years of SMIRA's existence, which, I am sure, is due, in no small part, to the efforts of the organisation in raising the profile of this disorder. The more ways that people can learn about it, the better."
